Texting your Filipina
Filipino’s are famous for texting and the best way to keep in touch with your Filipina fiancé or Filipina girlfriend is via SMS or text. Many Filipinas also use Yahoo Messenger however SMS does not require them to have internet connection and can be 24/7.
There are 3 ways to text with your Filipina from the U.S. or Canada:
- Using your U.S. or Canadian phone
- Linking your phone to Yahoo Messenger and having her do the same
- Using a roaming sim card from Globe, Smart or Sun
Texting to the Philippines from a U.S. or Canadian Mobile
This is obviously the most direct and easiest way for you to text your Filipina. You can do so by simply typing (011+63+her 10 digit number).
There should not be a 0 between her number and the country code 63. You can also use a “+” instead of 011 when texting from most carriers in the states. Sending text this way is a nice way to let your Filipina know you have arrived home safely and that you miss her beautiful smile however please do not expect so much response back as it is VERY EXPENSIVE for your Filipina to reply and send international sms! If you send her a text from a non Philippine’s mobile you should buy your Filipina some load first so she can afford to text you back. Even though people in the Philippines can receive text if their phones have no load they cannot send messages.
Also her load balance may not be sufficient to send you text back. If you use the e-load service from www.aryty.com you can send your Filipina load even from YOUR phone. That way you can always load her up when you want to chat. As little as 115peso load can last for at least 5-10 messages. Always load her up first prior to chatting to show you understand her needs and so she will not feel bad that she does not have enough money to text back. Be considerate and she will open her heart.
Texting your Filipina via Yahoo Messenger
Now you are getting clever. Most Filipina’s use Yahoo Messenger also known as YM. You can send text to mobile using YM from your desktop YM account or by linking your phone to your YM. If you link your phone to your YM account you can send and receive messages without paying international text! Your Filipina can do the same. Yahoo Messenger works with all carriers in the Philippines. This is a nice option!
Use a Globe, Smart or Sun Sim card that is on Roam.
This allows you to send messages to your Filipina from anywhere and she can text you back at the cost of sending local text. Nice! The downside is you need to carry around or keep your Philippine mobile handy to make sure to get her messages in a timely manner. You can always buy load for your roaming phone online. Texting Etiquette
As a foreigner you have greater means than your Filipina. It is most polite to send a load before beginning a text chat so your Filipina has load to respond. Also she may not have easy access to buy load in the Philipines so you will be doing her a great service. Sending load is easier than sending money and has a more personal touch than asking her to buy for herself. You may even want to send her family a load to show you have a warm heart and understand her family needs. If you use an eload service like Aryty she will get a message telling her you sent the load.
