Smart Communications recently launched their new Plug-N-Talk service to work with Smart SIM cards in the Philippines and abroad. With the Smart Plug ‘N Talk you can put your Smart Buddy SIM card into a USB dongle that when plugged into your PC allows you to make phone calls and text messages as if you were in the Philippines. I cant tell you how many times I have received an email in Tagalog that I did not completely understand. My tagalog is pretty good but living in the US has made me a bit rusty. Googles Gmail now includes a free translation service that will automatically translate your emails from Tagalog into English. If you activate the service in the Google labs section of your email account, you will then see an option to translate emails that you received in foreign languages. I have translated a few of my Tagalog emails and it works great. Give it a try in your Gmail account. Now emailing with a family, friends or even a Filipina will be much easier.

How to activate Tagalog translations in your Gmail email account.

1. Go to Settings → Labs
   
2. Enable Message translation
   
3. When you receive a Tagalog email click to translate
